Main distribution switchboard (MDS)

Main distribution switchboard (MDS) is a low-voltage complete device, which is used in power supply systems of residential houses, administrative and industrial facilities. Main switchboard is necessary for reception, distribution and metering of electricity, control of its quality, as well as protection of the network from current overloads and short circuits.
The main switchboard is installed on the low-voltage side of transformer substations, it is this equipment that receives current after the step-down transformer.
Structurally, the main switchboard is a number of metal panels connected to each other, on which the electrical equipment is located, divided into functional blocks. Switchgear switchboards can be both single-sided and double-sided. Switchboards are installed in a specially equipped room with strictly limited access.
