Industrial auxiliary electrodes EPv-5, modifications EPv-5/1, EPv-5/2, EPv-5/3, EPv-5/4, EPv-5/5, EPv-5/6, EPv-5/7, EPv-5/8, EPv-5/9 are designed to create a reference potential in pair with glass and other indicator electrodes during potentiometric measurements in aqueous solutions and slurries (except for solutions containing hydrogen fluoride, containing hydrofluoric acid or its salts and substances forming precipitates or films on the electrode surface).
The electrode potential is created by immersing the silver wire into the cavity filled with potassium chloride and silver chloride solution.
The body of the electrode is made of a tube (glass, plastic or metal). Communication of the inner half-cell with the potassium chloride solution filling the electrode body is carried out by a thread placed in the glass tube and providing the rise of the solution into the cavity of the half-cell..
