The basic principle of operation of any hydraulic jack is based on the fact that the pump creates pressure of the working fluid, which pushes the plunger (piston), thus the process of lifting the load. If it is necessary to lower the load, it is enough to open the pressure relief valve and the hydraulic oil flows back into the tank.
