The head retainer is a lightweight folding structure attached to the shield with straps. The head restraint is radiopaque. The shape of the side supports of the head brace provides effective immobilisation around the ear and other areas of the head, limiting unintentional destabilisation. The supports are provided with special openings that allow inspection of the auricles to detect possible bleeding or loss of other fluids. Depending on the size of the head, the supports can be fixed in different positions. When folded, the head support takes up little space and is easy to transport.
