Free Swelling Index Testing Apparatus for Coal Quality Assessment

The apparatus is designed for testing coal according to GOST 20330 (ISO 501-81) "Coal. Method Determination of the index of swelling in the crucible". The apparatus allows to determine the swellability of coal during rapid heating in a closed crucible. As a result, the obtained coke residue (korolek) is compared with the scale of standardised profiles for assigning a number - the bulking index. The control unit integrated in the machine allows to automatically maintain temperature regime according to the standard.
