Electric motor traction direct current EK-235U1 is designed to complete suburban and interregional electric trains with a voltage of 3000 V in the contact network. It is a four-pole electric machine of series excitation, rated power 235 kW. It consists of a frame, main and additional poles, armature and two bearing shields. The electric motor has one output end of the shaft.
