Diesel-generator 18-9DG is designed for use as a power unit in diesel locomotives 2TE25KM, 2TE116U and 2TE116UM with AC-DC electric transmission, consists of diesel engine 16 CHN 26 / 26 and generator, connected by a plate coupling. Type 16-cylinder, four-stroke, V-shaped, with gas turbine supercharging and charge air cooling.
