Dehumidification System for Efficient Ship Drying and Emergency Pumping

Dewatering system - for drying of ship compartments, emergency drying of engine room and tiller room, for filling and drying of the forepeak ballast tank with water. Working water supply to water jet ejectors is provided from the fire main. Emergency dewatering of the engine room by a cooling pump mounted on the main engine with bottom water.

The disc gate of the forepeak ballast tank, installed in the RSW room, is equipped with a manual remote roller actuator, located in the RSW room above. Dewatering receivers with pipes connected through valves or valve boxes to the respective pumps or ejectors shall be installed in all drying rooms of the ship. The open ends of the receivers are provided with nets or are lowered into receiving wells closed with grids.

Mud boxes are installed at the dewatering pump.
