Coupling element (carabiner) is an opening device for connecting components, which allows the user to attach a system to link itself directly or indirectly to an anchor. It can be either a component part of one of the components of the equipment (e.g. a safety sling) or an independent component of the safety system (as a connecting element for locking devices, slings, etc.)
