Description

The MPO/MTR "hydra" cables are used to connect equipment with standard optical connectors to MPO/MTR multi-fibre segments, in particular for interconnections within MPO/MTR fibre cassettes and within a rack or cabinet. The "hydra" configuration provides a transition from a single 12-fibre MPO/MTR interface to multiple standard optical connectors. Hydra cables can be connected directly to active equipment. A variety of optical fibre types are available. The cable contains 12 fibres in a buffer coating with an outer diameter of 900 µm.
