The furnace is an element of a steam boiler. Water evaporation (vapour formation) takes place in the screens of the furnace. The furnace chamber is of semi-open type, having a squeeze at about 1/4 of the furnace height (counting from the bottom), in the upper part it is prismatic, in the lower part it consists of two octagonal fireboxes connected by a corridor. The walls of the fireboxes are sealed and covered with carborundum mass. The furnace is made of all-welded membrane panels. Slightly sloping single slope underneath is formed by the pipes of the rear screen. The ceiling of the furnace is closed by the panels of the front screen. The rear screen at the bottom mark of the outlet window is branched in such a way that one of every five pipes continues to meet the collector, forming a festoon with a 400 mm spacing between pipes, and the four remaining pipes bend to the side and screen the under and ceiling of the turning gas duct. The side screens of the firebox are of flat construction. All firebox units are suspended from the existing ceiling slab of the frame by heated hangers.
