Bidirectional Frequency Converter "Papir" for Efficient Energy Management

The bidirectional frequency converter of "PAPIR" series is produced in the power range from 1 to 5 MW and is used in powerful power systems, including for controlling engines of propulsive systems of a ship: propulsion and steering column and thruster. IF performs soft start and stop of the electric motor, controls its temperature, speed and power, protects the electric drive according to the controlled parameters. The microcontrollers of IF series "PAPIR" are based on a modern processor with the performance of 180 million operations per second. The control system provides high quality of regulation with accuracy of output frequency maintenance - 0.1%. The converter supports vector (with and without encoder) and scalar (without encoder) types of electric motor control.
