Description
Barium fluoride for thin layer optics tablets (barium fluoride from powder) (TU 2621-038-48581565-2014). It is white-coloured tablets with density 4,66-4,9 g/cm3. Transparency area is 0.25-15 µm.
Molecular mass 175, 34. Insoluble in water, soluble in a mixture of hydrochloric or nitric acid solutions with boric acid. Chemical formula BaF2.
Purpose and scope of application: as a starting material for manufacturing thin-layer optical coatings by thermal and electron-beam evaporation in vacuum.
