FAQ
•Is the furniture shipped assembled or flat-packed?
Case furniture, wardrobes, beds, dressers and tables, ships flat-packed in branded cartons with fittings and assembly instructions, which is what makes container economics work. Upholstered sofas ship assembled or partially disassembled with legs and backs detached, wrapped in stretch film and cardboard.
•Can we choose our own upholstery fabrics and colors?
Yes, within the factory's fabric library, which usually spans dozens of options across price grades. Some factories accept customer-supplied fabric for large runs. Frame dimensions normally stay fixed; color of laminate, facade style and fabric grade are the standard variables.
•How many sofas or bedroom sets fit in a container?
As a rough guide, a 20 ft container takes around 25-35 flat-packed wardrobes or 15-20 assembled sofas, and a 40 ft high-cube roughly doubles that. Mixed loads are normal, and factories will calculate the exact loading plan from your order list before invoicing.
•What payment terms do Russian furniture factories accept?
The common pattern is an advance payment of 30-50 percent to start production with the balance before dispatch, paid by bank transfer. Established repeat buyers often negotiate softer terms. Settlement currencies and banking routes are agreed case by case, so raise this early in the negotiation.
•Is there a warranty on exported furniture?
Manufacturers typically declare 12-24 months on frames and mechanisms under normal household use. For export, warranty is usually handled by replacement parts, sending a new mechanism, facade or fitting, rather than product returns, which is worth agreeing in the contract.
•Can a retailer order display samples before a container order?
Yes, most factories sell single units of catalogue models for showroom evaluation. Sample pricing is usually list price without volume discount, and buyers often consolidate samples from several factories into one trial shipment through a forwarder.
