KELVIN infrared pyrometers are designed for non-contact measurements of the surface temperature of objects by their own radiation within the zone defined by the sighting index. KELVIN infrared pyrometers are optical-electronic measuring devices operating in the infrared region of the electromagnetic spectrum.
KELVIN infrared pyrometers measure the temperature on the surface of the object or on the boundary of the separation of different media, based on the registration of the energy of their electromagnetic radiation. The size of the controlled surface area is determined by the pyrometer sighting index.
The main elements of the KELVIN infrared pyrometers are: a lens that focuses the radiation of the object to the radiation receiver, one or two radiation receivers, an electronic unit of measurement and indication. The output signal of the radiation receiver is proportional to the intensity of the absorbed thermal radiation, which, in turn, is related to the temperature of the object according to Planck's law.
