BRs are designed to combine terminal devices (sensors) and computer station into a single GTI data acquisition system for monitoring, regulation and control of technological processes. BRs fulfil the role of a link in the distributed acquisition system, to which terminal devices are connected, form the required information channels and provide the following functions:
- reception and primary processing of information from analogue and digital terminal devices (sensors);
- control of digital and analogue sensors;
- providing power supply of terminal devices and their galvanic isolation through supply and information lines;
- providing communication via cable line with the equipment of the upper level of the collection system.
