Upholstery fabric ships in rolls of roughly 25-50 meters at 140-150 cm width. Stocked designs sell from one roll; weaving a specific tapestry design to order typically starts at 300-500 meters. A furniture factory's practical first order is a mixed set of stocked designs - one or two rolls each - to test sewing and market response.
•Can I get fabrics treated for stain resistance or flame retardancy?
Finishing options exist but are article-specific: some upholstery cloths take water- and stain-repellent impregnation, and flame-retardant treatment is available mainly for contract-furniture articles.
