KVA is designed to provide and maintain automatically the microclimate parameters in the driver's cab and in the service areas of the locomotive when the locomotive is travelling at a speed of up to 160 km/h. KVA provides cooling, ventilation, heating of air and its cleaning from dust in the inhabited rooms of traction rolling stock of railways. It is allowed to install KVA on other types of rolling stock, provided that the requirements of safety standards on the Federal Railway Transport, as well as the requirements of the Sanitary Norms and Rules that establish requirements for a particular type of rolling stock are met.
