It depends on the flag. Equipment carries certificates from the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping or River Register, both long-established classification bodies. Many flag administrations accept their certificates directly or after document review, especially for river and non-convention vessels. For SOLAS-convention ships, confirm acceptance with your flag administration before ordering — suppliers provide full certificate copies for this check.
•How is life raft servicing handled outside Russia?
Inflatable rafts require inspection and repacking at approved service stations, typically every 12 months. Before buying a raft fleet, confirm with the manufacturer which stations in your region are authorized for their models, or negotiate training and authorization of your own service facility — manufacturers do license overseas stations for fleet customers.
•Can distress pyrotechnics be exported, and how do they ship?
Yes, signal rockets, hand flares and smoke signals are exported regularly, but as Class 1 dangerous goods they require licensed transport, specific packaging and longer documentation lead times. They usually ship by sea with dedicated DG paperwork. Plan 2–4 extra weeks versus ordinary cargo and confirm your local import permit requirements early.
•Do navigation buoys and marks come with mooring hardware?
Floating navigation marks are typically quoted as complete systems: buoy body, daymark, optional lantern with solar power, and mooring chain with sinker sized to your water depth and current. Provide depth, bottom type and exposure data, and suppliers will configure the mooring specification. Polyethylene buoys ship nested to save freight volume.
•What lead times apply for boats and large rescue equipment?
Catalog items — life jackets, lifebuoys, lanterns — ship from stock or within 2–3 weeks. Inflatable rafts are usually available in 3–6 weeks. Rescue boats and workboats are built to order, typically 60–120 days depending on size and outfitting, then ship as deck or container cargo. Fleet packages are consolidated to ship together.
