Sand trap is a part of storm water treatment facilities. It is designed for cleaning of surface runoff and separation of solid particles - sand, dirt and silt - from the total volume of wastewater. The principle of operation of the sand separator: wastewater enters the tank through the intake pipe and is discharged through the outlet pipe.
The operation process of sand catchers is based on gravity. During the operation of the sand separator, gravity settles suspended solids, lighter substances such as petroleum products and oil float to the surface of the tank. The wastewater is then transported for further treatment.
Sand traps are manufactured from reinforced fibreglass on the basis of polyester resins with the use of machine moulding technology, which significantly increases the strength and service life of the product.
