The diaphragm washers are designed for the stator section of steam turbine cylinders. Diaphragms are installed in the outer cylinders of the turbine through an intermediate link - diaphragm rings.
Diaphragm shells are welded structures consisting of two halves - upper and lower, connected by horizontal flanges and fastened by studs. On the peripheral part of the diaphragms an annular projection (tooth) is made for installation in the corresponding bore of the cylinder.
