The "RASPLAV" complex is designed for experimental-calculation studies of local physico-chemical and thermal-hydraulic processes in corium melt in relation to the problem of its in-vessel containment and at the out-of-vessel stage (for example, nuclear reactor core melt traps). The complex can be used for experimental and computational studies of phase equilibria and stationary states in high-temperature systems, studies of degradation processes and interaction with high-temperature melts of NPP materials.
The complex was successfully used in development and substantiation of NPP corium melt localisation devices for Russian (VVER) and foreign (PWR, BWR, LWR) reactors.
