The monitor is designed for automatic non-invasive measurement of blood pressure (BP) and heart rate (HR) in freely moving patients over a long period of time (from one to several days), examined both in outpatient and hospital settings, in order for the doctor to diagnose the state of the cardiovascular system of the patient. BP is measured by indirect methods based on the analysis of the dependence of the parameters of biological signals on the amount of excess pressure in the cuff placed on the patient's upper arm.
Methods of BP measurement are oscillometric and auscultatory. To control the reliability of measured values of BP and HR, the monitor provides registration of pressure in the cuff, Korotkoff tones and ECG.
The monitor provides transfer of measurement results to a computer for further analysis and printing of the protocol.
