Rail bus RA-3 is designed to provide suburban passenger service of railways with a track gauge of 1520 mm on non-electrified sections of turnover up to 200 km, equipped with low and (or) medium and (or) high passenger platforms, with a maximum speed in operation of 120 km/h.
Rail bus RA-3 is formed from the following variants of the composition:
- two cars according to the scheme (G+Gi);
- three cars according to the scheme (G+Pb+Gi). This is the basic composition (configuration of formation) of RA-3.
Note:
G - head car of modification 753.10 with control cabin and power plant;
Gi - head car of 753.11 modification with control cabin, power plant and equipment for comfortable carriage of people with disabilities;
Pb - trailed non-motorised wagon of modification 753.20 without driver's cabin and without power unit (traction force on the body is transmitted only through the coupling device).
