Wireless radio frequency information communication system (hereinafter referred to as "BRISS-M") is designed for wireless data transmission between local computing Ethernet networks (LAN) of neighbouring cars of the train and formation of the train information backbone. "BRISS-M" provides data transmission between the ends of neighbouring cars of the train, provided that both cars are equipped with these systems.
At present various modifications of BRISS-M systems are used on locomotive traction passenger cars. Advantages: provision of a unified train information infrastructure without the intervention of service personnel; automatic establishment of connection when cars or trains are docked on the system of many units; low power, no interaction with neighbouring trains; high noise immunity; high operational reliability compared to wire connections; antenna design resistance to long-term UV radiation.
