Description

A portable hand tool used to cut dressing material and tissue. It is a tool comprising two blades connected on an axis with handles at the ends in the form of rings for the thumb and, for example, the index or middle finger. The distal ends of the blades may have different shapes and are usually rounded for safety; one blade may be longer than the other and have an olive-shaped tip that is placed under the dressing material. Carbide inserts may be used on the cutting edges of some models.
