The limiter is designed to protect the insulation of electrical installations of 220 kV AC voltage class networks with frequency 50 Hz with a solidly earthed neutral from switching and lightning overvoltages within the limits of its voltampere characteristic and capacity in schemes where short-term overvoltages at the main and higher harmonics, as well as in the transient mode at the second and third harmonics, at the level and duration of impact do not exceed the permissible levels of voltage and duration of its application to the limiter in accordance with the requirements of GOST 15150. The basic operating position of the limiters is vertical.
