SEPCOLD shell-and-tube split heat exchanger for serviceable SC-THE series.
This type of heat exchanger consists of a shell, inside which the first coolant circulates, and tubes installed inside the shell, through which the second coolant flows through the first. This allows heat exchange to take place through the surface of the tubes in contact with the first coolant. Sometimes plates are provided inside the casing in order to increase the efficiency of heat transfer by increasing the circulation time of the heat transfer fluid. This allows the coolant to travel from one end of the shell to the other several times. This increases the performance of the heat exchanger, but it also significantly increases the pressure inside the shell and the overall hydro resistance of the heat exchanger and makes it more difficult to clean.
