The "Orlan-85ST" IZh1.101.039-14 airborne radio station, which has a frequency range of 118.000 - 136.975 MHz, channel spacing of 25/8.33 kHz and is designed for use as part of the on-board equipment complex and autonomously on aeroplanes and helicopters. It provides two-way simplex voice communication of the crew with ground ATC services and between the crews of aeroplanes and helicopters, control of the emergency channel at 121.5 MHz (on command) without disrupting the basic functions of communication and control
