A mains-powered (AC) device designed to force gases into the abdominal cavity by filling it with gas under limited pressure [usually carbon dioxide (CO2)] to provide the operator with a space (pneumoperitoneum) in which to perform an examination or surgical procedure. The use of electronic devices can control the pressure and keep the space filled with gas by compensating for gas leaks.
Other surgical instruments can be introduced into the abdomen through other laparoscopic ports. The device may also be referred to as a laparoscopic gas insufflation system.
The insufflator laparoscopic INS-002-"FOTEK" has a built-in heater, which ensures that the gas temperature at the outlet of the device is not less than the ambient temperature and not more than 37?C.
