Laboratory Testing Setup for Heat Exchangers: Plate, Shell-and-Tube, and Air Coolers

Study of design and principles of operation of heat exchangers of different types: plate, shell and tube and air cooler. List of works to be carried out on the training stand: <ul> <li>- Conducting tests of heat exchangers in direct and counterflow modes.</li> <li>Measuring the flow rates and temperatures at the inlet and outlet of hot and cold coolants.</li> <li>Consolidation of information about the physical essence of heat transfer from hot to cold coolant and analysis of factors affecting the optimisation of the process.</li> <li>Determination of heat transfer coefficients in recuperative heat exchangers at direct and countercurrent schemes of coolant flow.</li> <li>Experimental study of the operation of shell-and-tube and plate heat exchangers with determination of their thermal load.</li> </ul>
