To prevent Velcro from coming undone during the fight and training, the Velcro clip is made double. At the bottom, the shield is secured by a strip, which is attached to the athlete's foot. The shield is made of a combination of synthetic and cotton fabric.

The protective inner liner is a combination of different foam materials.
