Designed for measuring the temperature of the medium along fibre-optic cables in oil, gas condensate and other wells, including long-term monitoring of oil and gas production process parameters, as part of information-measuring systems, as well as monitoring of distributed temperature for extended civil and industrial facilities in power engineering, construction, transport. The system of distributed temperature measurement based on Raman scattering is a system consisting of a sensing element and an interrogation device. The sensing element is a single or multimode optical fibre. The interrogator fires an optical pulse into the fibre line and measures the magnitude of the amplitude of the backscattered Stokes and anti-Stokes components of Raman scattering from each interval of the fibre line. Processing the data together with calibration data allows the temperature of each fibre section to be calculated with an error of ±0.1 °C.
