PCO is designed to protect boiler units in gas heating systems at gas distribution stations with coolant pressure in the thermal circuit up to 0.9MPa and temperature up to 110 oC. CCPs are installed at the inlet and outlet of the gas heater and provide protection of the coolant circuit in case of gas heater depressurisation, preventing natural gas under pressure up to 10.0MPa from entering the coolant circuit.
During normal operation of the gas heating system, the coolant flows freely through the internal cavity of the valve. When the pressure in the heat exchanger exceeds the valve setting pressure, irrespective of the pressure rise rate, the heat exchanger is automatically cut off without operator's participation due to the energy of the flowing medium. After depressurisation of the heat exchanger, the CCP automatically returns to the initial state.
In operation, the CCP does not require any work related to its disassembly.
