Gas-insulated Generator Switch VGG for Efficient Switching Operations up to 20 kV

Generator circuit breakers VGG for voltage class up to 20 kV are designed to perform switching operations (switching on, switching off and cycles "switching on - switching off", including without deliberate time delay between operations) in circuits of main leads of generators in normal and emergency modes. The switch represents three poles consisting of metal bodies and hollow epoxy insulators, in which arc suppressors are installed. The poles are fixed on a common frame and are equipped with an actuator.

The extinguishing and insulating medium in the circuit breakers is gas. Additionally, the switch can be equipped with protective covers, control and monitoring cabinet. VGG switches are available in various modifications.

The location of the circuit breaker terminals for each project is necessarily agreed with the customer to offer the best option and minimise further work on installation in the confined spaces of the power plant.
