Description

Turbine support bearings take up the rotor mass and also provide alignment of the rotor relative to the turbine housing. Plain bearings are used as support bearings for steam turbines. Plain bearings consist of inserts filled with antifriction alloy - babbitt. The liners are installed in the cage, which is attached to the bearing housing.
