Indicator of ethanol in exhaled air Alkotester (hereinafter referred to as the device) is designed to detect ethanol vapours in the air exhaled by a person when monitoring the sobriety of drivers of vehicles and in other necessary cases to identify persons suspected of drinking alcoholic beverages.
The device is used during pre-trip and post-trip control by inspectors and medical workers of transport companies, as well as traffic police officers to establish the fact of alcohol consumption in accordance with traffic rules.
The device has high selectivity to ethanol vapours in relation to vapours of substances and gases: acetone, petrol, diethyl ether, acetic acid, isopryl alcohol, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, ammonia, hydrogen sulphide and serves for revealing the fact of alcohol consumption.
