The scope of the indicator is detection of leakage places of liquefied petroleum gas (GOST 20448-90). (GOST 20448-90) and natural (GOST 5542-87) gases, hydrogen at open areas and premises of enterprises of gas producing, gas transporting, energy and other industries, as well as at the facilities of gas distribution organisations and during operation of refrigeration equipment using ammonia, hydrocarbons, freons and refrigerants as refrigerants.

The indicator is an individual device of continuous operation. The operating principle of the indicator is thermochemical. The method of controlled medium supply is convection.

Structurally, the indicator consists of a housing and a sensor unit.
