Closing valves are designed for installation as shut-off valves on technological pipelines. Shut-off valves are used for complete closing of its passage section, and, consequently, the flow of the working medium; that is, the locking element, which in the shut-off valve is most often a spool, in the process of operation is in the extreme positions of "open" or "closed". Control of shut-off valves can be manual (by handwheel or through a gearbox) or from a general purpose or explosion-proof electric actuator. Connection types: coupling (internal thread), under welding "in socket", flanged, flanged with mating flanges, under butt welding, socket (external thread).
