Scrubbers are wet mechanical apparatuses designed to clean gas from suspended particles and harmful impurities under the action of mechanical forces at (or after) contact of suspended particles with liquid.Scrubbers are designed to clean various gas-dust mixtures from solid particles, including aggressive, explosive and prone to sticking and condensate formation, at temperatures not exceeding 250 C. Scrubbers are not designed for operation under overpressure of more than 0.07 Pa. Scrubbers belong to the category of universal equipment (apparatuses), as they can be used with equal efficiency in most of the technological processes characterised by the formation of large amounts of industrial dust.Scrubbers, as a rule, are used for pre-cleaning of gases and installed before the apparatuses of fine purification (bag filters, electrostatic precipitators).
