Snow removal train is designed for cleaning: station railway tracks from snow, ice in winter and pollutants in summer from the track surface with subsequent loading of snow, ice or pollutants into gondola cars, their transportation and mechanised unloading in designated places. The train consists of: a head car, an intermediate gondola car (a second gondola car can be retrofitted) and an end gondola car. Locomotive of any series is used for operation and movement of snow removal train SM-7N.
Track cleaning, snow collection is performed by the head car with the help of wings, side brushes and a feeder, which feeds snow with blockages to the feeder conveyor. The snow is then transported by the belt conveyor of the intermediate gondola to the end gondola. Unloading is carried out by a transverse discharge conveyor with throwing rotors.
Unloading can be carried out in both directions from the track axis at a distance of 5-10 metres.
