The rear drive axle is designed to connect the rear wheels of one axle to each other, as well as the transfer of torque from the engine through the cardan shaft to the driving wheels, and by means of the differential allows the wheels of the car to rotate at different angular speeds. The axle consists of a pressed rear axle crankcase in which the gearbox is installed.
Hubs with disc brakes are mounted on the crankcase trunnions. Rotation from the gearbox to the wheel-spoke group is transmitted via half axles.
