Invasive distal component of an argon-enhanced electrosurgical system designed to deliver electrosurgical current within an argon (Ar) gas flow jet directly to tissues for their incision/coagulation/ablation during endoscopic (including laparoscopic, arthroscopic) surgery. It is a long thin product with no controls, typically a coaxial configuration of a monopolar electrode with a tube/guise for Ar gas delivery, requiring the use of a contact return electrode for the patient to close the circuit.
Products are available in various shapes (e.g. rigid laparoscopic electrode, flexible endoscopic probe).
It is a reusable product.
